Black Zippered Waist

HELP! Last-minute formal event–no time for alterations on dress! Where do I pin it?

I have an evening wedding to attend on Saturday. It’s formal dress. I have one formal dress, black, floor-length, 100 per cent polyester (not as yucky as it sounds), 3/4 lined, with a jacket. I don’t have time to get it altered, since I need to have it drycleaned too. Where can I pin the dress inside discretely to make it a bit better-fitting? It won’t look awful if I don’t get it done, but it will look so much better if I do! Sorry I don’t have any pictures! Do I just pin it in the waist area? In back by the zipper, on the sides, or both?
Oh! I forgot to say how much I need to take in! I’d say I’ve lost about 40 pounds since I last wore the dress, and could gather up a good 2 inch fold of material on either side of the waist before it feels snug.

Any were that is loose at the seams. and I would try to pin it from the inside so that the pins don’t show! just fold it evenly at the seams and pin it! Hope that it helps and you have a good time! =) -wolf girl
