Gap nursing Bra?

I bought two Gap nursing bras, the front snap closure. One is size 40D and the other is 38D
I’m currently 36C. I tried them on and they are huge on me, it looks like I could’ve got a 38C and just let is stretch, the material is really stretchy…
Will I be able to fit these after I deliver? If so, for how long, and will I shrink or stay big until I stop breastfeeding. Should I have gotten a smaller size?
I’m 38 weeks, so any day now…

You probably should have gotten a smaller size.

In the first week or so you will be engorged, but then the engorgement will go away as the milk regulates itself. That’s why even a nursing bra you buy your first week after baby may not fit after that.

It’s hard to buy a nursing bra before you’re nursing as your breasts will be different. I would return the 40D and keep your 38 D for now; although it’s more likely that your size will increase like this: 36D, 36DD.

Invest in a cheaper bra, something without wires and with minimal support until you have a better idea of where your size will fall.

Your breasts will stay fuller as long as you’re nursing. After you stop nursing, your breasts will feel deflated until your body places more fat inside your breast tissue again (a couple months.)
And if you haven’t picked any up, I love the Lansinoh breast pads in the purple box, they prevented me from leaking all over my bras, and bed, and shirts, haha.
